Motherhood, the epitome of compassion, stands at a strange crossroad for a surrogate mother. The film Maternity Blues portrays the dilemma and turmoil of a woman lending her womb for her daughter's future. Her noble cause is mired by a reticent husband and a self serving middle man. The film in fact depicts the reality of surrogacy in India, where a substantial population yet lives on the border of penury and would be happily to offer the service of surrogacy to needy couples.
